In regards to
Phanetec's Precise: As I explore the concepts brought about throughout "The Achievement of Desire" I come to contemplate a deeper meaning in the texts. It tells more about the culture of education and questions the
fulfillment of education in our lives. We are brought up learning the white Anglo-Saxon education culture and values. We read the books and those books portray the morals that the dominant culture has set forth as valuable. This impression
effectively strips any other
varying culture's identity. As seen in the emptiness he experiences when he should have been happy. It was not who he was, the dominant culture had forced down goals that he realized were not necessary to his happiness. Some people in life are not meant to go to college, they are more apt to work with their hands and work with their back. I know several individuals who know more about wildland fire behavior and tool maintenance than I ever will, but they wouldn't know how to write an essay. Different people are born to do different things, rather than molding everyone into a common mold we should perhaps try to enhance people's natural talents when we find out what they are. Embrace our varying cultures and embrace our differences by enhancing them, rather than hiding them.
